☆ Understanding explanation text☆

describes the process of something happening. The things described in the explanatory text are in the form of natural and social phenomena.


☆ General structure of explanation text: 

■ This section specifies what phenomena will be described.

 ■ Sequenced explanation (explanation in sequence)

■ This section describes the process sequence of an event.


Example:

❄ Snow occurrence process☃️

snow is formed from water vapor that accumulates in the atmosphere. The collected water vapor then reaches the condensation point, aka the temperature at which the gas turns into liquid or solid. The water vapor then forms a cloud.

The mass of the cloud is smaller than the mass of air. That's what causes the clouds to float in the air.

The longer the steam accumulates, which makes the cloud mass heavier. Because the capacity is maximal, water vapor breaks up in the clouds and causes water particles to fall to the earth.

Unlike the water we drink everyday, the water particles that fall to the earth do not immediately freeze at 0 degrees Celsius. The water particles from the clouds are still pure because they have not been mixed with other substances.

It takes temperatures below 0 degrees Celsius to make water particles freeze. However, such low temperatures may not necessarily form snow. The temperature in the clouds is usually below zero degrees Celsius.




The thing that causes water particles does not necessarily turn into snow because the air temperature before it hits the earth is considered high. The frozen water particles then melt back after being touched by warm or high temperatures. This is what makes tropical climates rarely snowed.


Although no snow has fallen, parts of Indonesia are still subject to hail. This phenomenon is due to the temperature of the air which cannot completely make the ice particles melt.
